The day that was determined to be the start date, you and your team were there on time, from 7-4 pm everyday Monday through Friday until the job was complete. We were always informed about any issues, changes or approvals on detail work. At all times, we were greeted professionally and kind from all the carpenters and tradesmen on site.

We sorely needed a new roof. The original shingles -- thin, brittle and nailed to bare plywood with no underlayment were not only buckling and loose, they were the source for multiple interior leaks. The exterior of our 20 year old house had become an eyesore. The original Masonite siding was swollen with dampness, cracked or broken and bulging away from the house in many areas. We solicited 4 proposals from reputable local contractors for a new roof and vinyl siding. We wanted the same contractor to do the roof and the siding to ensure that the interfaces between the two would be consistent and done properly.
Our project was fairly large for a residential house --2500 sq ft house, large attached 2-car garage and an addition. There are 4 independent sections to the roof, also skylights and valleys. Our project included removing all the old roofing and siding material and installing brand new, top quality materials. AJ Wood provided the best all-around value proposal. He recommended 30-year architectural shingles from IKO for the roof and top-of-the-line Certainteed Monogram vinyl siding for the exterior. We wanted the work completed before spring, and so AJ's teams worked diligently through the winter months to complete the work -- stopping only during the most inclement weather. AJ's team was dedicated. Once on the job, we were ensured of continuity. The team was reliable and worked on our house virtually non-stop unti the roof and the siding job was complete. This is noteworthy. We did not want to experience what others had complained about -- a project started with a team who interweaves one project with many others leaving the homeowners to wonder if their project will ever be completed. This was definitely not the case with AJ Wood.
AJ and the team paid close attention to detail, both structurally and cosmetically. They used extra material and/or workmanship where needed to solve some challenging roofing and chimney issues with our house. The result was impressive. The exterior of our house was structurally sound and cosmetically beautiful. AJ is easy to work with. He listens and is very responsive. He visits the site often to check on progress and quality. He is always available by phone and quickly responds to messages. We never felt abandoned if we had a concern or question. Also, unlike other contractors who want 1/2 of the proposal price up front before any work has begun, AJ Wood only asks for a reasonable amount at project commitment and then progress payments during the project and a final payment after the project is satisfactorily completed.
Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the quality of AJ Wood's work and attention to quality. We highly recommend AJ Wood and his team to anyone looking for siding or roofing work.

Dear AJ,
I just thought I would drop a note to tell you how pleased we are with work you did on our house. When we purchased the house, we knew that the Hardie Plank (cement board) siding needed work because it was damaged where it met the roof shingles, some of the trim needed to be replaced, and the exterior of the house needed to be painted.
We were given your name by my sister in-law and brother in-law. They said that they had a very good experience with you and your crew working on their house. My sister in-law called you and had you contact us.
Within a week or so you came out to the house and we showed you the damaged siding, told you what trim we wanted replaced, that the front porch roof had water puddling on its flat surface, some rear porch stair post needed replacement, and that we needed a door opening cut between the foyer and living room. We discussed the siding and you said that it needed to be cut back an inch or two above the shingles so that the siding wouldn't be in contact with water running on the roof and that the cut ends of the cement board needed to be primed. You were the only contractor that we talked to that knew how to correctly install this type of siding. You also said that you had a way to fix the front entrance porch roof so that water would not puddle on it and would run off the sides away from people entering the house. You came back with a reasonable quote so we hired your company to do the work.
You and your crew arrived at the house within a couple of weeks and started the work. Your crew was at the house continuously for more than two weeks making the necessary repairs. You and your crew were always gentlemen and did the work in a thorough and efficient manner. I am an engineer and as a student had worked building and repairing houses on summer jobs so I know how to do all of this work. I know you and your crew did it correctly.
We knew were going to need the house painted after the repair work was completed. We asked if you could recommend anyone and you recommended Michael Rubera, and had him contact us. He came to the house and walked around with us to find out what we wanted painted. It was the whole exterior of the house plus a shed located in the backyard. Michael came back with a reasonable estimate and we hired him. His work was excellent. He put two coats of paint on the house. He was very helpful in helping us figure out how to pick the exterior color. At one point we had painted the shed with 10 different mini samples of paint colors and could not seem to get the color we wanted. We talked to Michael he came back with two quarts of paint that he thought would be close to the color we wanted. He was correct and we were able to make a correct choice. We have had many compliments of how nice the house looks from neighbors.
We currently have Michael and his crew painting the interior of the house. They are doing a good job. They are courteous and do good work.
Both crews are courteous, hard working and honest. Much of the work has been done while we were not present at the house.
You have been helpful in putting us in contact with other contractors.
